Email & List Building

This Local Media Empire review is based on the vendor’s sales page, the vendor’s JV/affiliate page and launch document, the JVZoo order form (checked when the cart opened on 23 September 2026), the company’s published terms of service, earlier launches by the same product creator, and public search for buyer complaints. We have not created a Local Media Empire account or used the product. Where a claim couldn’t be verified independently, we say so rather than repeating it.

Quick verdict

Deal Investigation Rating

  • Strong Buy
  • Worth Buying
  • Proceed With Caution
  • Skip This One

At $37 one-time with a 30-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee, the downside on the front end is small, and the creator has been selling this kind of software for years. That is why this is Worth Buying rather than lower. It isn’t higher because the sales page never says who pays to send your newsletter once you have thousands of subscribers, the refund promise appears only on the sales page, and we found no independent buyer reviews to lean on. On launch day the JVZoo order form confirmed $37 as a single payment, and the sales page confirms unlimited publications with up to 10,000 subscribers each.

The other thing worth knowing: the demo login the vendor gave affiliates opens app.letterman.ai. Letterman AI is a newsletter platform the same creator co-launched in May 2024 at $297, and bundled into a $27 workshop offer in November 2024. If you already own Letterman, check what this adds before you buy.

What it is / who it’s for

Local Media Empire is a web-based platform for starting a local news publication: a website plus an email newsletter covering one town or area. The vendor lists AI article writing, a publication and newsletter builder, publishing to both email and the web, subscriber sign-up and confirmation pages, SEO/AEO settings, and tools for selling sponsorships and affiliate offers. The pitch is that you can run it “in less than 2 hours a week” without writers, designers or developers.

The product creator is Chad Nicely (Nicely Media LLC). Karthik Ramani is listed as JV Relations, meaning he manages the affiliate side of the launch; he isn’t the builder, whatever some launch calendars say. It’s aimed at side-business buyers who want a media asset in their own area, and the upsells (a local advertiser module, a business directory, a version you run for clients) point toward people who plan to sell advertising to local businesses.

What we found

What $37 buys, checked on launch day

We checked the live sales page and the JVZoo order form when the cart opened on 23 September 2026.

  • Price. The JVZoo order form charges $37.00 and states that it is a single payment. It also shows a 30-day return policy, handled by the vendor.
  • Publications. The sales page feature list shows “Local Media Publications: UNLIMITED”, and its FAQ says the launch offer includes unlimited publications. Correction: an earlier version of this review said the same list also showed “5 Publications” and called that a contradiction. It isn’t one. The “5” is the number of items in the “Publications & Limits” group of the feature list (the other groups show 6, 4, 9 and 10). We misread it, and we’ve removed that finding.
  • Subscribers. Up to 10,000 subscribers per publication. The vendor’s launch document describes OTO 1 as adding unlimited subscribers, so the per-publication cap is the main thing that upgrade lifts.
  • Upsells. The JV page labels every upgrade one-time: Pro $67, Local Advertiser $97, Local Directory $197, Local Client Version $297 or $497, and the bundle at $297. The vendor’s earlier launch document put the directory at $97 and listed the bundle at $297 or $497. We’ve gone with the JV page. JVZoo only shows each upsell price after you buy the front end, so check each one before you accept it.

The upgrade path is coherent: more subscribers, advertising, a directory, then a version you run for clients. The only thing we couldn’t confirm from outside is the upsell prices themselves, because JVZoo shows those one at a time after purchase. If one differs from the table below, you can simply decline it.

Who pays to send the newsletter?

A publication with 10,000 subscribers sends tens of thousands of emails a month. The launch-day sales page answers “Can Local Media Empire send my newsletter too?” with a yes, saying it can deliver newsletters directly to your subscribers. The very next answer says it includes “SMTP/email sending integration” for connecting your email marketing setup, which usually means plugging in your own sending service. What the page still doesn’t say is whether sending is included in the $37 or whether you bring and pay for your own provider. An independent write-up of the creator’s November 2024 offer, which used the same underlying software, described email sending through a built-in CRM with no separate autoresponder needed. That was a different offer two years ago, so treat it as a lead, not an answer.

This matters twice over. If you have to supply your own sending service, that’s a running cost the one-time price doesn’t cover. And a local newsletter’s value depends on reaching the inbox, which depends on how sending is set up. Ask support before you buy, or during the refund window.

Built on software the creator has sold before

The demo credentials in the vendor’s affiliate launch document log into app.letterman.ai. Letterman AI launched in May 2024 as a $297 one-time front end, credited to Simon Warner with Chad Nicely and Perry Belcher. In November 2024 Chad Nicely’s “Newsletter Launch Blueprint Workshop (Local)” sold for $27 and included Letterman AI. Local Media Empire, at $37 and aimed at local publications, looks like the next packaging of the same platform with a local-news focus and new modules on top.

That isn’t a knock on the deal. A platform that’s been running for two years is less risky than one built for this launch. It does put the JV page’s “1,000+ local media publications” in context: that figure most likely counts everything published on the underlying platform, not buyers of this product. We couldn’t verify the number either way. The practical point is for existing Letterman or Newsletter Launch Blueprint customers, who should ask support what Local Media Empire adds before paying for it.

Guarantee

The sales page presents a “30-Day Triple Guarantee”. The third part is the one that counts, quoted verbatim:

If Local Media Empire simply isn’t the right fit for you — for any reason — contact our support team within 30 days. No hoops. No complicated requirements. No trying to convince you to stay. We’ll give you 100% of your purchase price back.

That’s about as clean as refund wording gets on a launch like this. One caveat: the guarantee lives only on the sales page. Nicely Media LLC’s published terms of service contain no refund policy at all, and they name two different governing laws (United States and the Netherlands) without saying which applies. That looks like an unedited template. Screenshot the guarantee when you buy. Refunds on JVZoo purchases can also be requested through JVZoo’s own support if a vendor doesn’t respond.

Urgency and the “$97 a month” price

The sales page runs a “JVZoo Launch Special Ends In” countdown and says the price becomes “$97/month, every month, ongoing” afterwards, and that the unlimited-publications and unlimited-articles offers “go away”. The launch window itself is real: the JV page sets cart close at 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday, 29 September 2026. Whether the product will then sell at $97 a month is a statement about the future that we can’t verify. Don’t let the comparison price make the decision for you.

Income framing without an earnings disclaimer

The sales page values an audience at “a conservative $5 per subscriber” (“10,000 subscribers… $50,000 in audience value”) and names local media businesses that sold or raised money, such as Charlotte Agenda and 6AM City. Those are real businesses, but nothing we found suggests they were built with this software. We didn’t find an earnings disclaimer on the sales page. The terms of service carry a generic one (“no guarantee… that… you will make any money”). Read the case studies as proof that local media can be a business, not as what buyers of this tool can expect.

Bonus stack (vendor’s own, included in the price)

  • 11 Ingredients to Build a Successful Business Newsletter (stated value $497)
  • 120+ Food Subscription Boxes That Pay You for Signups ($497)
  • 100 Unique Products for Local Subscribers ($597)
  • 100 Local Article Ideas That Get Attention ($397)
  • 50 Local Contest & Giveaway Ideas ($297)
  • The 30-Day Local Media Launch Plan ($697)
  • 3-Day Local Media Empire Launch Workshop ($297)

All of it is on-topic for someone starting a local newsletter, and a three-day live workshop is the kind of bonus that actually helps. The stated total of $2,982 is another matter: a list of 100 article ideas at $397 is a sales-page number, not a price anyone pays. These are the vendor’s bonuses, separate from the AI App Sleuth bonus further down. The Bonus Value rating below scores the vendor’s stack, not ours.

Vendor track record

Chad Nicely has sold software and training to internet marketers for years. Launches we could trace include Lead Automated Agency (2019), LCS2 with Daven Michaels (2020), Survay, CompeteUp and Lead App, then Letterman AI (May 2024) and the Newsletter Launch Blueprint Workshop (November 2024). He also runs Local Newsletter Hustle, a local-newsletter training brand. The JV page claims the team’s last launch did “$400K+”, which we couldn’t verify.

Public complaints / red flags

We didn’t find a Trustpilot profile for Nicely Media, Letterman AI or Local Newsletter Hustle, and we didn’t find buyer complaints about these products on Reddit or forums. The only community mentions we found were requests for pirated copies. That doesn’t mean there are no complaints. It means none were public enough for us to find, and it leaves the Trust Signal resting mainly on the guarantee and the creator’s history rather than on buyer feedback.

Vendor claims vs. what we verified

Vendor claimsWhat we found
“$37 One-Time Payment”, “No Monthly Fees”Verified on the sales page, the JV page and the JVZoo order form, which charges $37.00 as a single payment. Every funnel step on the JV page is labelled one-time
“UNLIMITED local media publications”Verified as the sales page’s launch-day offer, with up to 10,000 subscribers per publication. An earlier version of this review misread a feature-group count as “5 Publications”
“Unlimited AI-Created Articles”Unverified. We found no usage limit or third-party AI key requirement stated, but we also found no detail on how “unlimited” is enforced
“The AI-built, MCP-powered system behind 1,000+ local media publications”Unverified. The software appears to be Letterman AI, which has been on sale since 2024, so the figure likely counts that platform’s users, not this product’s
30-day, no-questions-asked money-back guaranteeVerified verbatim on the sales page, and the JVZoo order form shows a 30-day return policy. Not repeated in the company’s terms of service, which contain no refund policy
Price rises to “$97/month” after launchUnverifiable: a statement about future pricing. The launch window (closing 29 Sep 2026) is real
Run a publication in “less than 2 hours a week”Unverified. A marketing claim, not an independently reported outcome
Product creatorVerified: Chad Nicely per the JV page and the JVZoo order form. Karthik Ramani is JV Relations, not the vendor

Local Media Empire pricing & OTO breakdown

From the vendor’s JV page, with the $37 front end confirmed on the JVZoo order form on launch day. Upsell prices only appear after you buy, so we couldn’t confirm them at checkout. Buy every upgrade one by one at the top tier and the $37 entry becomes $895. The $297 bundle covers the upgrades for less, so the realistic ceiling is $334. Run it through the True Cost Calculator → to price only the upgrades you’d actually take. Launch prices change, so check each step on the order page before you pay.

Deal Investigation Rating

CriterionRatingWhy
TransparencySome Fine PrintFront-end price, guarantee, publication allowance and one-time funnel are stated plainly, and the launch-day order form matches the sales page. But email-sending costs aren’t disclosed, the refund promise isn’t in the terms of service, and the vendor’s own documents have disagreed on upsell prices
Value SignalFair$37 one-time for a newsletter-plus-website platform with unlimited publications is low next to the $297 the same creator charged for Letterman AI in 2024. The unknown running cost of sending large newsletters stops this being Strong
Trust SignalSome Fine PrintLong-running creator with a traceable launch history and a clean 30-day no-questions guarantee. But we found no independent buyer reviews at all, and the terms of service look like an unedited template with conflicting governing law
Bonus ValueFairSix on-topic bonuses plus a three-day live workshop. Useful, but mostly idea lists carrying inflated values ($397 for 100 article ideas)

Overall: Worth Buying. The price is low and confirmed at checkout as a single payment, the guarantee is about as clean as launch guarantees get, and the creator has sold this category of software before. That limits what you can lose on the $37. It isn’t a Strong Buy because the offer leaves the cost of sending your newsletter unstated, which affects what running a local publication will cost you, and because there are no independent buyer reviews yet. We didn’t find anything that would push it down to Proceed With Caution. This rating is a judgement about the deal, not a claim about how well the software performs, which we haven’t tested.

Your Local Media Empire bonus if you buy through us

Buy Local Media Empire through the link on this page and you also get the five bonuses below, built by AI App Sleuth and delivered by us. The vendor neither supplies nor endorses them, and they don’t change the rating above. The software writes the articles. These cover the parts it doesn’t: getting subscribers, finding local businesses to sponsor you, and knowing what to charge them. Total bonus value: $675.

The Client-Getting Kit — bonus ecover

FLAGSHIP BONUS · VALUE $297

The Client-Getting Kit

Who to contact, what to say, what to charge, what to send. A local publication makes money when local businesses pay to be in it. This kit is the outreach side: how to pick the first businesses to approach, the messages to send them, how to price the offer and what to send once they say yes. It’s four designed guides, with editable versions of the templates.

Perfect if: you plan to sell sponsorships or ads and have never pitched a local business.

The 7-Day Free Traffic Sprint — bonus ecover

The 7-Day Free Traffic Sprint

Value $197

Seven days of specific, free, 45-minute actions that put real people in front of what you publish, with a tracker so you decide on day seven from numbers. For a local newsletter, that means the first subscribers.

Perfect if: your publication is live and nobody in town knows it exists yet.

The Rate and ROI Calculator — bonus ecover

The Rate & ROI Calculator

Value $67

Stop guessing at prices. Enter your time, costs and target margin, and get a rate card back. Use it to price a sponsorship slot or a banner placement before a local business asks.

Perfect if: a business asks “what does an ad cost?” and you don’t have an answer.

The 30-Day Content Engine — bonus ecover

The 30-Day Content Engine

Value $67

Thirty days of social posts already planned on real dates: a pre-filled calendar and tracker, not an empty template. It keeps the publication visible on the channels where local readers find it.

Perfect if: you start promoting the newsletter, run out of ideas by day four, and stop.

The Proof Card Maker — bonus ecover

The Proof Card Maker

Value $47

Paste in what a reader or a sponsor said, pick a size and download the image. Reader replies make a sponsorship pitch easier to believe, and they’re wasted sitting in your inbox.

Perfect if: readers reply to your issues and you want advertisers to see it.

How to claim: buy through the link on this page and keep your JVZoo receipt, then go to the Local Media Empire bonus claim page and enter the transaction ID from it. You have 30 days from purchase.

FAQ

Is Local Media Empire a one-time payment?

Yes. The JVZoo order form charges $37 as a single payment, and every upgrade on the vendor’s JV page is also labelled one-time. What isn’t stated is whether email sending is included or whether you’ll need your own sending service, which would be a separate running cost.

How many publications does the $37 version include?

Unlimited publications during the launch, with up to 10,000 subscribers each, per the sales page on launch day. An earlier version of this answer said the page was contradictory; that was our misreading of a feature-group count.

What’s the refund policy?

30 days, for any reason, per the sales page: “We’ll give you 100% of your purchase price back.” The company’s terms of service contain no refund policy, so screenshot the guarantee when you buy.

I already own Letterman AI. Do I need this?

Possibly not. The vendor’s demo for Local Media Empire runs on app.letterman.ai, so the two appear to share a platform. Ask the vendor’s support what Local Media Empire adds to your existing account before buying.

Who actually made it?

Chad Nicely of Nicely Media LLC, per the JV page. Some launch calendars credit Karthik Ramani, who is the launch’s JV Relations manager.

Will I make money from a local newsletter?

We don’t know, and neither does the sales page. It cites local media businesses that sold for millions, but we found nothing connecting those businesses to this software. Income depends on building an audience and selling to local advertisers, which is work the software doesn’t do for you.

DECIDED?

Rated Worth Buying on the evidence above. Before you pay, ask support whether sending your newsletter needs your own email provider, and screenshot the 30-day guarantee. Buy through the link below and the five bonuses on this page, worth $675, are yours.
